Bonus week
This was a bonus week at the Empson family household. Nick learned how to ride his bike without his training wheels, Sam lost his first tooth and Joe turned 1!

Sam's small moments writing
Sam has been doing lots of writing in first grade. He just finished his small moments writing exercise where the students are asked to pick a topic and then write about one specific piece in detail. Sam's overall topic was our trip last summer to the cabin at Potato Lake. His small moment that he chose to write about was catching a fish. You can listen to his story here. Enjoy!

Tapping Maple Trees
Jenny was out of town this past weekend so the boys, all 4 of us, needed something to do. We decided to join a group of folks at the Wayzata Big Woods to learn how to tap a Maple tree. Here you can see one of our buckets. We need to check every few days to see if our buckets are full.
